Safe swimming enjoyment

The recently opened Badeparadies Schwarzwald was built in just one year. This means there was no time for experimentation. The operator uses reliable and secure treatment systems from ProMaqua for their swimming pool water.

Everything from a single source: Badeparadies Schwarzwald in the town of Titisee-Neustadt, which opened in December, utilizes a complete solution for water treatment supplied by ProMaqua. The fun-pool and spa centre comprises some 1,250 square metres of water area divided over eight separate pools. Just one month after opening the centre was already able to welcome their 50,000th visitor.

Chemical production on-site: Over two tonnes of chlorine per week

In order to ensure that the pool water remains germ-free, the swimming centre utilizes chlorine. This is produced on-site from harmless common salt by means of electrolysis. "This is safer, as there is no need to transport or store chlorine gas, which is commonly used to generate chlorine", says Jürgen Weinert, branch manager for swimming pool technology at ProMaqua.

"300 kilogrammes of chlorine are produced every day, which amounts to over two tonnes a week.", explains Weinert. "This would represent a significant risk if this volume had to be purchased, delivered and transferred. Our system completely eliminates the need for this."

Water treatment with DULCOMARIN® II: CAN bus system for system networking

Metering pumps as well as measuring and control systems are installed in the pools. This means that the values are always representative and visitors are unaware of the monitoring systems. All of the data is collated centrally by the DULCOMARIN® II control system. This is the first CAN bus system to provide effective networking for swimming pool engineering. The system is designed both for public pools as well as for high-end private pool facilities and conforms to DIN 19643.

Some 350 metres of CAN bus cable was laid between the pools and the DULCOMARIN® II system. The modules themselves are connected to this. "Data is exchanged continuously", explains Weinert. "The higher the information density, the quicker and more specifically can the water treatment systems be controlled in the event of a problem. The information can be easily accessed from any computer."
